npower Britain’s brightest energy company has been the title sponsor of the npower Ashes series since 2001. npower has been a loyal and active supporter of English cricket from the playground right through to the pinnacle of the game at international level. Thanks to substantial investment from npower, the ECB have been able to plough money into the game of cricket. The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is arguably the most successful cricket club in the world. Since its establishment in 1863, Yorkshire can boast an unrivaled 31 County Championship wins over the years, as well as five additional major trophies.

Leeds Metropolitan University is a university of festivals and partnerships and is the primary partner of Yorkshire Carnegie, Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s one day team. The University’s Carnegie Pavilion at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, which will combine world-class cricket, media and hospitality facilities and also act as a teaching space for Leeds Met, is part of a raft of ambitious architectural projects which include the iconic Rose Bowl — the new home of the University’s Business School in the Civic Quarter.
Last year, Leeds Met Carnegie won the ‘Coaching Environment of the Year’ award at the UK Coaching Awards and was announced as the home of the UK Centre for Coaching Excellence. This year our students broke into the top three in the British Universities & Colleges Sport league, with only Loughborough and Bath recording higher results. The University also achieved its best ever Research Assessment Exercise results with Sports-Related Studies in the top six institutions in the country.
