The Cricket in the Square EventTue 4–Mon 10.08.09
Millennium Square in the heart of the city centre, will be transformed into an urban cricket festival of fun on Tuesday 4th August, Friday 7th August, Saturday 8th August and Monday 10th August 2009.
Youngsters will have the opportunity to take part in cricket coaching and kwik cricket sessions under the expert supervision of The Yorkshire County Cricket Club coaching team. Members of The Yorkshire County Cricket Club squad will also be popping down to say hello and offer their expert advice. There will be food, refreshments and a whole host of activities to get involved in.
Visitors to the square will also be able to take in all the action from the 4th npower Ashes Test Match between England and Australia at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground courtesy of Radio 4 live commentary. Finally visitors can also have a go at the Slogger interactive cricket game courtesy of the BBC Big screen!
